USF Electric Machines and Drives Course - EIN 4933/6935

The purpose of the Electric Machines and Drives Course to introduce the basic theory and applications of electrical machines and drives. The design and application of electric drives used in the starting and control of electric machines will be introduced.  Applicable industry standards will be introduced as well.  This course will review parts of an electric drive, electric machine, and overall application considerations.  We will review the theory of operation of induction, synchronous and DC machines.  Equivalent circuits will be reviewed to present simplified analysis methods.  Motor and Generator parameters will be presented.

Electric Machines and Drives - Homework Materials -

The homework is our practical application learning tool and peer review and feedback is strongly encouraged.  I strongly encourage students to review their homework with other students and to provide me with early copy so I can review and provide feedback well before due date.  Homework submitted before due date can be re-submitted for better grade as long as re-submit is by due date. 
Once due date passes, no homework submittals or re-submittals will be accepted

Homework must be submitted by midnight of the due date. 
Late homework submittals will receive no credit.

Solution PDF will be added with worked out solutions day after homework is due.  After solution posted (after due date) homework will no longer be submitted for that chapter.  Please have your homework submitted on time..
